Looking for information on my 3rd great-grandfamily. John Hoey DOB abt 1805 in Louth, Ireland and his wife Mary 'Mairy' McKenna DOB JUn 1806 in Ardee, Louth. They have two children for whom I have baptismal records; John Hoey DOB 1841 and Anne Hoey DOB 1847. Another son James Hoey DOB 1832 has been linked to them but I have not been able to verify this at this time. In the Ireland, Tithe Applotment Books, 1805-1927 a John Hoey is listed as being a resident of Lawlesstown, Cappoge, Louth, Ireland in 1834. Can anyone give me an idea where I can go to find out whether this John Hoey is the person I am looking for?
Thank You very much!!!

Hi K, I see the two births in Drumconrath, Co, Meath to those parents and someothers in Louth and Longford (1) to parents Hoey and McKenna. On the face of it the people in Drumconrath are not the same with out a leap of faith, not everyone is in the Tithes as it was only for people withover an acre of land so if you had less or were working say as a coachman or butler then you will not be there, The marriage took place in Drumconrath in 1834 with no address given but indicates the bride at least lives there. It is just outside Ardee in Meath which borders Louth at that point.
I see no John Hoey in Griffiths in Drumconrath in the 1850's. considering they married in 1834 the children were slow in arriving assuming they were all baptised in the same place as other places may not have records.
Have you any follow up questions please ask, both names are found in Louth and this week a man of that name was here from the US but in Castlebellinghma.
