My cousin and I will be visiting Clonbur the end of September, staying in Dooris in the home that our great grandfather, Michael Diskin built there, and would love to connect with anyone who knows of the Diskins or has a connection to the family or the Varley family of my great grandmother Bridget, who was allegedly born in the upstairs of O'Malleys. Here's a picture of Bridget and my grandfather James outside the cottage, since demolished.

  • I forgot to add  Dooras is a townland beside Corrnamona a few miles west of Clonbur. In fact one turns at O Malleys pub to enter the townland

  • Thank you. As the day comes closer we get more and more excited. We know that many of the Diskins are buried at Ross Abbey, which doesn't have an office where local records are kept.  Can anyone guide as to where they maybe archived?
