My great grandmother Nora Mahony was born in County Clare in 1861. She emigrated to the US and married my great grandfather, Henry Straehle, in New York in 1896. She died in 1915 in North Pelham, NY, US. She had a sister named Delia Mahony who was born in 1878 and died in 1904 in New York City. The only evidence I have of her being from Clare is from one article in the newspaper remembering her speaking Gaelic with my other great-grandfather (her daughter's father-in-law), but I do have DNA on ancestry indicating ancestry in Loop Head Peninsula and I'm wondering if that is from her. I'm attaching the article about them speaking Gaelic together, it was in the Pelham Sun in 1939, after both people had passed away.
I am looking for her parents, who were Thomas Mahony and Margaret Kitson, as well as other siblings.

Thank you so much! This is amazing. We're planning to visit Ireland next summer, I will definitely add this area to the itinerary! Y'all are just the best.

Thanks for posting the information. Nora and Henry are also my great grandparents. My name is Chuck. I live across the water from New Rochelle near Little Neck Bay. My mother is Joan, Aunt Marie's sister Catherine's daughter. I enjoyed the newspaper article.
