Coghlan family Kilbeggan

HI! I was looking for imformation concering the Coghlan family from Kilbeggan. My 2x great grandfather was Joseph Coghlan, who emmigrated to New York around 1890. I have much of my great-aunt's geneology research, but this was the side of the family that she didn't have much information for. Apparently some of Joseph's siblings stayed in Kilbeggan (William, John, and Margaret), some went into business in Dublin (Eugene and Francis), one went to Canada (Bernard), one went to South Africa (William), another went to America (Thomas), and Mary became a Holy Faith nun. The only other information I have is that their father was John Coghlan who married Agnes Cowell. Agnes's father was John Willis Cowell, who was the doctor in Kilbeggan, and her mother was Elizabeth Farrell, whose family apparently owned cigar works in Dublin. John Coghlan's father was William. The story is that William Coghlan's family had mills in the Tipperary area, and that John settled in Kilbeggan with his mother.

I've found some information on a few of Joseph's siblings, but haven't found much information on his father John and mother Agness, or on his grandparents William, John Willis, and Elizabeth Farrell. I'm not sure what his grandmother's name was either (married to William).

Any information or suggestions for researching family histories with Irish records would be really appreciated! I've had trouble finding information on the Irish side of the family in general. Thank you so much!
