Hi,
In relation to your query, I think the name is "Sinon" rather than "Simon". The name "Senan, Sinon, Synon" were common first names in County Clare in earlier years. The name "Murphy" is mainly associated with West Clare - Miltown Malbay and Kilrush Districts. It would be helpful if you coould get parents names.
In relation to "Bridget Healy", also known as "Delia", the name is common in the County.
I attach a copy of a Canadian census record which may give a clue. You should check the County Clare Library - www.clarelibrary.ie It may be helpful.

Thanks for getting back to me. I do have the census you sent to me from Canada. I have a lot of information from Canada where they ended up in Haldimand County, Ontario but no parents name or anything else for him that leads me to where in Ireland. My mom did have a note from a relative that they were in the Miltown/Malbay & Kilrush district but most census say he was born from 1806 to 1809. I do have something for Bridget Healy Murphy that says she was born March 18, 1825 in County Clare, Ireland & died August 4, 1904 in Oneida, Toronto Canada but I hit a block trying to find any Ireland information.

Hi,
I attach a copy of the 1901 census which gives detail of a Michael John Murphy in Cahermurphy which is midway between Miltown Malbay and Kilrush. His son is recorded as "Sinon" ages 25 years. It will give you an idea of the names. There is also another family with the son named "Simon" in the area. There are no earlier census records and no record for a Bridget Healy in 1825 with the 18th March showing online.
You can access the Tithe Applotment Records - 1823 -1837 on Clare Library Website - www.clarelibrary.ie There is a lot of information which may be of interest to you.

Hi,
Please see attached. Marriage record not found. Is this immigrant record of your "Simon Murphy"? Nothing to identify Bridget and Michael Healy.

Good information! The 1901 Census show Sinon Murphy at age 21 but my records indicate that he married Bridget in Canada in 1845 & if he was born about 1807-09?, then he would have been born around 1880 in this census.
The Findmypast document that you sent is more likely to be him as it shows he immigrated to Canada in 1844 (I had something that I can't find now that had 1842 as immigration but just a guess).

I have just come across your message in Co. Clare regarding Healys'. My Great Grandfather came to South Australia, Australia in 1866 as a twenty year old meaning that he was born about 1846. He was born in Durah (on his death certificate) I took this to be Doora. His father's name was John but we have not been able to find his mother's name.
His sister Anne also came to Australia at around 1863 (age not known) but according to her death certificate she would been born about 1847). She could not sign her Marriage certificate but put her mark on it. I do not know if there is any connection with your Bridget but have found the family very difficult to put together. Maybe Bridget could be a sister to John, their father, or be younger siblings.
Do you know Bridget's father's name? Not knowing who their Mother was is most frustrating.
Just thought I'd put this info to you in case it connects in some way. Regards Pat Elliott (nee HEALY)

Pat,
The townland of Durha/Derha is close to the town of Kilrush on the rural road R483 to Cooraclare.
It is in the Civil parish of Kilrush.
I have checked for a John Murphy in this townland in Tithe Records 1826 and later in Griffith's Valuations 1850's with negative results. There is a "William Murphy" recorded in the townland of Leadmore in 1826.
The surname Murphy can be found in Leadmore in the 1901 Irish census.
What was the first name of your great grandfather.

Pat,
I appear to have the wrong person in my Post to you (Murphy).
It appears your interest is in "Healy".?
There is an Ann Healy recorded in Doora in 1838 who father is John Healy and her mother as Bridget McInerney in the Subscription site - www.rootsireland.ie. Sponsors: Tom Garry and Hanna KcKenery?
Her birth date is 1st August 1838, but the Site www.find mypast.ie has September 1838 and her mothers' name as McKenny.
You may be able to find details on catholicparishregisters@nli.ie - National Library.

I have been looking up the McInerny family and trying to join the dots for my HEALY family for quite a while. Sorry If I have diverted your interest in the MURPHY family. My Great Grandfather was Michael Healy, according to his death certificate, born about 1844 in Durah, Co. Clare. Married in South Australia age 29 in January 1874. He also had a sister Anne who came to Australia.
It appears that there could be some details that could connect us, so I shall have to go over all of my papers and try to connect the dots. Thank you for your interest in replying to me. Regards ..Pat Elliott (nee HEALY)
