* A link with Shankill, Belfast, Co. Antrim? (No primary evidence, but UELA of QC archivist has suggest such)
*Married Robert Caldwell Snr c.a 1760. Their 1st born was either William D (b.1761?). or John Todd Caldwell (b.1763), followed by James (b.1765), Elizabeth (1767?), Robert Jnr (b.1770?) & Andrew Todd (b.1772?), who may have all been born in NYS, USA or William & John T. may have been born in Co. Antrim, Ireland now Nthn Ireland (See next point below re: conflicting date of migrating to the USA)
* Migrated in 1761 to NYC, USA and possibly joined up with Dr Clarkes' 1764 Cahans Exodus from Ballybay, in either NYC or NYS @ Stillwater OR were original members of the 1764 Cahans Exodus, as a Robert Caldwell was named in "the head of the household" list of the departing group.
* Allocated c.a 1766 a farm plot on Turners Patent 1764 @ White Ck/New Perth now Salem, Washington Co., Upper NYS, where Sarah. Robert & "Prince" (a farmhand) farmed until 1777, when Robert & Prince joined Gen. Burgoyne @ The Battle of Saratoga 1777.
* Sarah & family remained at White Ck/New Perth until 1779, when Robert (w/o Prince) returned home after spending 2 yrs in jail for refusing to "swear allegiance to the 13 Colonies". Upon his return, he approached his neighbours to ascertain if they would accepted him back into the community. All accepted his approach, except for one "Mad" More/Moore, who said he would kill him. He was mad, because he shot directly at his own son, who had joined the Loyalists.
* As a result, the whole family migrated to Canada in 1779, where they spent 5 yrs in refugee camp(s) St John/Machiche, until Robert C. took up the offer of land as a reward for being a Loyalist @ New Carlisle, Bonaventure Co. Gaspe Peninsula, Quebec in 1784. (N.B If William D. was the first born, then this is where he disappears totally off the family radar, but appears in Erie, Pennsylvania, with a descendant of William D's. endeavouring to establish a genealogical connection finding a huge "brickwall' to knock down. If there is a Caldwell connection, then maybe there is a chance that being the oldest as well as a Patriot, William D. Caldwell decided to cut his ties forever with his family. Will we ever know???).
* Sarah, Robert and their immediate Family were responsible for New Carlisle having 200+ Caldwell Descendants over a number of generations.
