I am having trouble verifying the baptism of John James O'Connor. His US death certificate noted he was baptized on Septembe 15, 1845 in Castleisland Kerry Co. his parents were noted as James O'Connor and Mary Callahan.
I received some much appreciated help and got verification of the marriage of James Connor and Mary Callaghan on Feb 5th 1837 in Kenmore Parish, Cappagh, Kerry Co.
I found a baptism of Julia Connor on August 17 1846, but nothing on John James. I tried various spellings and used John alon and James alone etc -No luck
I don't know where Cappagh is in realtion to Castleisland ? Any help with John's information or that of other siblings would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mary

Mary:
Castleisland and Kenmare are a good distance apart. Roughly 40 miles. The townland near Kenmare is likely Cappanacush in Templenoe civil parish.
I guess there are two possibilities. Maybe there are two James Connor and Mary Callahan couples in Co. Kerry at that time or the info on the death record for James is incorrect.
When I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland using James Connor as the father and Mary Callahan as the mother, the only two baptismal records which come up are borth in Kenmare: Julia August 17 1845 and Bridget January 15 1852. No Castleisland records came up. Here are two links to the parish registers for Kenmare and Castleisland. You may want to search the registers to see if you can find John.

Thanks for your help. I have jsut been given new information that John James O'Connor was baptized in Lomanagh, Kerry County Sept 15, 1845. Not Castleisland.
When I checked Irishgeneology.ie I found there were two parishes associated with Lomanagh -Kilgarvan and Killemlagh. But searches on irishgeneology.ie under John Connor and John O'Connor for each parish came up with nothing.
I will check the online parish records directly but any other help yu can give is greatly appreciated. Thanks Mary

Mary:
Where did you locate the information on Lomanagh? There are actually three RC parishes that connect to a townland called Lomanagh: Sneem, Caherdaniel and Kilgarvan. The Kilgarvan records should be available and also Caherdaniel which start in 1831. Sneem baptismal records start in August 1845 so possibly he was from Sneem and his record may not be available.
