Cravens in Oldbridge, Co. Meath

I believe we are searching the same family.  My family had most of the same first names as you do. My great grandfather was James b 1835 and his father was Francis born 1804 also in Louth ( married a Catherine Connolly). I have a  Peter b 1857, Margaret b 1853,  John b 1849, Nicholas b 1845, Francis b 1845 and Patrick b 1838. My gggrandfather was also Francis b abt 1757 and my ggggrandfather was Joannis Craven b abt 1726. I am sure with a lot of the same names  and coming from places like Haggardstown, Louth and Donore, Meath we have some sort of connection.

Thank you for connecting, ccraven931! I have been wondering for quite some time whether there is a connection between these two families. I learned of the names you listed from soneone else a few years ago who is a descendant. The name on my Craven side who would be within the same generation as those you listed is my great-great-great grandfather, Nicholas Craven (b abt 1816). I haven't come across any records indicating a connection with your family, which is why I'm hoping to learn the names of Nicholas's parents and siblings. The only record I have in question so far is a Catholic Parish Register for a Nicholas Craven born in 1818 to parents Patrick Craven and Rose Dolan in 1818 in Monasterboice, Armagh, Co. Louth. Sound familiar at all?

I still thnk we are related through one of the cravens. Have you done an ancestry DNA test? I have and have come across a few Cravens searching other sides of the family. Mostly there were so many siblings . I do know a lot of Cravens named their kids the same. It can be very confusing. We probably go back so far we may never know.
