Hello,  I am looking for any information regarding John Dore (b circa 1807) in the Listowel area. His parents were Cornelius Dore and Catherine Hack He married Margaret Hagerty and they had at least 2 sons (James and David). He is found in the US 1850 census along with his brother Cornelius and cousins Maurice and John McElligott. At that time they were in Murray, Orleans, NY. John and Margaret then settled in Copetown, County of Wentworth, Ontario and were found in the 1861 CAnadian census under the misspelled surname of Doar. Along wth them were 3 other children Mary, John Henry and William. They are listed in the census as sons and daughter, however this may not be the case. According to John Henry's daughter years later John H Dore's parents were William Dore and Mary O'Connor. I would be happy for any information on this line. Thank you.   Ed Dore

  • Further to above, Marriage of Catherina Hack to John Lovett - 1822. The parish appears to be in the Union of Dingle. I did not find any record of a marriage between Catherina Hack and Cornelius Dore.

A Maria Hack married in 1822 and a similar marriage recorded for 1825. The Hack name appears in the area of Listowel and Ballylongford.
