Searching for information re. Wesley and Margaret Gordon O'Neill. Margaret was from County Cavan, but we don't know where. She and Wesley were married in Meath (again, we don't know where) around 1825. We know they eventually were living in Enniskeen. Before emigrating to Canada in 1842 they had four sons, Gordon, Henry, James, and John. When being in quarantine at the Grosse Île Quarantine Station in Quebec, sons Henry and James died. The rest of the family proceeded on to Ontario where many of Margaret's family (Gordons) had already settled.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone with knowledge of this family.

Hello again!
Same question regarding religion. If they were Church of Ireland and from Enniskeen parish then no 19th century records are available. They were destroyed in the 1922 Public Records Office fire in Dublin.
I did find an 1827 Tithe listing for a Wesley Neill in Boynagh townland in Enniskeen civil parish. Possibly this is your ancestor. This Wesley was leasing five acres of land.

Yes, I was aware of the tithe listing...
To the best of my knowledge, Margaret's family was Wesleyan Methodist, but I don't know more...

I'm not very familiar with Methodist records in Ireland and Roots Ireland does not have any Methodist records for Co. Meath.
I located some Methodist background at this link.
