My great-grandmother was Mary Reynolds, daughter of James Reynolds and Margaret O'Brien. Through a DNA connection I have determined that her brother was John Reynolds who was born about 1860 somewhere in Australia but went to Thurles and married Johanna Maher.
Mary Reynolds was born about 1855 at sea on the way to Australia. She then returned to Thurles at some stage with her parents but emigrated to Queensland, Australia in 1872, married Thomas Downer and settled in Victoria.
I have found a marriage for James Reynolds & Margaret O'Brien at RC Chapel in Thurles on 8 October 1843 but have no more information. I cannot find their shipping records to and from Australia.
I am hoping for more DNA matches or any connection to another relative.
