Hello! I am looking for anyone who might be related to a family named Howard. They lived in Ballyvaskin South during the first half of the nineteenth century. Names were Dennis, Martin, Martin James (little Martin), Patrick, and Thomas. They may have had a father named Big John. Supposedly had red hair.

Hi,
I attach Tithe Records of Howard in Ballyvaskin South - Year not shown, but likely 1820's, also Howard in Griffith's Valuations early 1850's.
You can access those records for free at www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy for the Tithe Records and www.askaboutireland.ie for Griffith's Valuation.
You will find those records and other local information at the County Clare library clarelibrary.ie/genealogy
The 1901 and 1911 census can be found at the National Archives.
You may need to include information, ie - emigration etc. In the Tithe record - 3 entries are recorded as "Widow" and there is a "Gilbert" which is not a common name
in the area.

Carolan,
There is a record of a John Howard having married a Bridget Devitt in Inagh church in February 1864. Record no. 330 on NLI file 02472/01 - clarelibrary.ie

Carolan,
I attach a record of the birth of a Thomas Howard 1870, No. 430 on sheet. The address is Leagard. There is Leagard North and Leagard South both adjoining. Leagard North is more to the Inagh-Ennis road, while
Leagard South is covering mainly Spanish Point.
Thomas' parents are recorded as John Howard and Bridget Devit.
