My great x2 grandparents John Moriarty and Mary Ellen Fitzgerald were married in Castlegregory, County Kerry on 1 Aug 1829. Is the church still there? I am visiting in Apr 2023. Mary Ellen’s address was given as Deelis. Is this close to Castlegregory? Thank you for your help!

Deelis is about four miles from Castlegregory. There are two Catholic churches in Castlegregory. One, St. Mary's, was built in 1831 so after your ancestors' marriage. I could not find a building date for the other church.

Jonathan, do you know if Mary Ellen had any siblings? My ancestor was Michael Fitzgerald and I am try to connect him to his birth family. He settled in Co Limerick with wife Mary Long in early 1800's.
