Looking for Carrolls in Liscannor

There are two graveyards on the road from Lahinch to the Cliffs of Moher -Kilmacrehy c1 mile and St. Bridget's Well - another mile.

Clare County Library has the baptism of a John and a Pat Carroll 1840's. See clarelibrary.ie/genealogy.

The parish Kilmacrehy is in the diocese of Galway now.

Ballyvislane on the marriage cert is above the church in Liscannor as you head up to the cliffs of Moher/ St Brigids well , I think it was renamed Holland street later.

I suggest that you check out www.findagrave for Kilmacreehy/Kilmacrehy and St. Bridget's Well Cemeteries.

Kilmacreehy has a John Carroll 2008 - No photo and a Cecil O'Carroll 1990 - 1 photo -  who is from Ballinasloe, County Galway.

St. Bridget's Well: Catherine Carroll - 1924, Eileen Carroll - 1935, Michael Carroll - 1939, Robert Carroll - 1949, Patrick Carroll - 1983. No photos.

Civil registration is from January 1st 1864. You may be able to get family details at  civilregistration.ie.

If you Google the cemeteries you will get a number of photos of the terrain. You will need strong footwear and a strong stick for balance!

Thanks both for all the links and suggestions; that's given me a lot to go on. I'm 99% certain that the John and Judy Carroll who are the parents on the four baptism records are the brother and sister-in-law of my Edward, but the others I'll need to look into. Hopefully I can find out more when I visit Clare in June. If not, I hear Joseph McHugh's pub might be a good place to find consolation.

I did get to the churchyards around Liscannor in the end, looking for Carroll ancestors. The names I was looking for were two Johns (father and son) and a Susan/Judy. I found headstones for John Carrolls, but none for a Susan. From records I found online, it looks like there were three Carroll families in the parish at the end of the 19th century, and each one had at least one member called John, so I couldn't be sure if any of them were related or not. I do know that both Johns were carpenters, and the Edward and Michael Carroll who moved to Wales were by trade a sawyer and a carpenter. I was told at the Rock Shop that they used to use wooden cranes in the stone quarries, so I was wondering whether these four Carrolls were employed on that side of things. Does anyone know the history of quarrying around Liscannor, and whether any records might survive?

Apparently, the quarry was operated by the owners of various pieces of land.
