Thomas's maternal grandmother, Anna Ryan, and three of her siblings, John, Winifred and Mary Ryan, were all born in Newtown, Bruff, in the years 1881, 1876, 1878 and 1883 respectively. Being Roman Catholic, they were all baptized in the Church of St. Peter and Paul in Bruff. Their parents, John Ryan and Mary Glasgow had married in 1875 at the Church in Newmarket-on-Fergus, in Co. Clare. His parents, Patrick Ryan and Winifred Cahill, were from the same townland.
By the 1901 Census, the family had moved to Limerick City, being recorded at 1 Barrack Hill and consisting of the parents, John and Mary, and four children, Annie, Mary, Patrick and Thomas, the latter two having been born in Limerick City.

Dear IrelandXO,
I cannot thank you enough for arranging the contact with Maresa. She is kind and clever, insightful and meticulous, guiding me for an entire day on a startling ancestral expedition. She made it possible for me to visit Bruff, to the church and town where my grandmother was born. She assisted in the search of the church records, which revealed a great deal about the family from the early nineteenth century, and spent hours with me searching Mt. Saint Lawrence for the graves of my great grandparents.
I am so grateful for this wonderful journey into the past.
Best regards,
Dr. Thomas Pullano
