My ggg gran Catherine Mccarthy was born 1865 in Kilgariffe Clonakilty cork. Her parents were Patrick Mccarthy and margerat hallahan. We have hit a brick wall on Patrick her father ( think he was born c1833 ? Where ) we have also hit a brick wall on the hallahan link ? Parents ? Birth date and location for margerat hallahan . We know they were married 1860 Clonakilty ?

The free site irishgenealogy.ie under the church records tab has their marriage of 1 Nov 1860 as you mentioned. No residence of parents'names are given, but one of the witnesses was an Ellena McCarthy. In searching that same site, I found just one Margaret Holihane from the RC parish of Clonakilty born 5 May 1835. Her residence was Carrigarf, parents - Daniel Holihane & Eleanor Kohane, witnesses - Daniel Kohane & Joan Kohane. For Patrick, there are three possibilities that you can search and take a look at - one in 1832, 1834, and 1835. All in Clonakilty. If you know their children's names, and they followed the Irish naming tradition, you might be able to figure out which of the three is your Patrick.
