Good afternoon,
I am doing research in preparation for an upcoming trip to Ireland this summer. Margaret is my husbands great grandmother. We found the record of her baptism on 25 Dec 1842 in Templemore, Tipperary, Ireland. Diocese is Cashel and Emly. The record that I found states her father is William and her mother, Margaret Morkan. The record is at the bottom of the page of the Catholic Parish Registers. Unfortunately During the filming the bottom is black so you can't really see the maiden name of Margaret. Is there somewhere that might not have the blackened bottom. The maiden name would really help in our Family research. Thanks so much, Cheryl Webb

Thank you so much Patricia. I am a bit confused. The baptism that I found for Margaret Morkan says that her father was William. However when she died Mar 23, 1925, her death record in South Windsor, Connecticut states that her father was John Morkan and her mother Margaret Duecy.I have also seen this surname spelled Doocy. From obituaries she had a brother Patrick, a brother Timothy, a brother William and a sister Mary Maher who stayed in Ireland. Would you be able to see if there were other baptisms in County Tipperary for a Margaret Morkan. The 1900 US census lists Margarets birth month as December. Again, thanks so much for your help. We look forward to visiting a cousin in County Cork and driving thru the area of County Tipperary where the Mokans lived.

Oy vay! I'm sorry we didn't have the death information before. But anyway, there was a Margaret in Clontaafe born to John Morkan and Anne Doocy. This record is from RootsIreland.
I would guess there was a close relationship between John and William Morkan of Clontaafe.
