Debbie Colson’s 2x great grandmother, Mary Quinlan Flynn, went to the USA in 1865 with her two young children. Her husband Michael Flynn had been there first to get established.
Debbie, from Dayton, Ohio, met with Dolores O’Brien Whyte, an IrelandXO volunteer, on 8 September at Moneygall, Co. Offaly. They visited the church where Mary Quinlan Flynn was baptised and also visited Cullenwaine cemetery where many Quinlan's are buried, in addition to several other places of interest.
Dolores was wonderful in spending 3 hours with us. She introduced Debbie to Patricia Guest, whose mother was a Quinlan. Patricia invited them to lunch at her house.
This was an amazing experience to walk in the footsteps of my ancestors. Thank you Dolores and Ireland X0. It is an experience I will never forget.
