John Augustus Walsh was the father of my grandmother's first husband was Percival (Percy) J Walsh born 25 Feb 1889. She was Mabel Susannah Moore. They had one daughter Eileen. Percy was killed in action in France WWI.
After he was killed, my grandmother remarried and thus our family came to be, Eileen becoming my mothers half sister. I feel Percy and his family are still part of my whanau.
His father John was a Belfast Customs Officer and shot himself on 12 November 1900. I believe his wife's name was Elizabeth (Lillie) nee Fergus.
I believe there are other siblings...Eva Mary b 1887, Newry, Herbert Patrick b 1890 Newry, John b 1892 Newry, Eileen b 1894 Belfast, and Charles b 1897 Belfast ...so about 3 when his father died.
I have them all on my family tree.. Ancestry.. but have had no hints for any of the family and cannot find if there are cousins undiscovered.
I would dearly love to find out more about the circumstances etc especially as Lillie was a widow at a young age with 6 children.
