Construction of Newry Cathedral began in 1825 and continued through until 1829.
The Cathedral is Roman Catholic in denomination and was built in the Gothic Revival Style.
It is the seat of the Bishop of Dromore.
Newry Cathedral has been maintained to an excellent standard and is still in use today for religious services.
