John was from Leperstown, Waterford, Ireland. He was born around 1811.
According to his obituary, he was the last of 9 siblings. He married an unknown woman and had 2 children. John B 1839 and Mary B 1842. He then left Ireland for the London/Dereham/Ingersol, Oxford, Ontario, Canada area with his 2 children. It is assumed his wife was not living.
He then married a Bridget Riordan and they raised 4 more children; James B 1850 (he became a Roman Catholic Priest in the Detroit area) Catherine B 1852 ( no issue) , Johanna B1855 (no issue), and Maurice B 1857 ( he married Annie Secord) and they had several children. They came to the Detroit, Michigan area and descendants are still in the area.
John lived in Ingersoll, Oxford, Ontario, Canada and died in 1893. He is buried in the Scared Heart Roman Catholic Church Cemetary
I am looking for John's family. His nephew Thomas Ronayne B 10 Nov 1836 is my 2 x great grandfather. Thomas left Ireland in 1854 and came to New York, then made his way to his uncle's home where he stayed for 2 years before going to Wisconsin and purchasing his own homestead.
If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.
