Patrick McCarthy was born in Quin, County Clare around 1833 to parents Daniel (or Donal(d)) McCarthy and Catherine Flanagan. He came out to Macleay River NSW Australia by 1864 where he married a local girl Mary Mills and had a daughter Catherine in 1871.
Sadly he drowned in the Macleay River in 1892 suffering he same fate as his brothers John in 1872 and Daniel in 1873. All three are buried the Frederickton Cemetery.
