I am not sure if it is Julia, Julia Anna or Juliana. Most records have Julia however on her gravestone is it Juliana and on her daughter Mary Helen's birth certificate it is Julia Anna. She was born 24 Jun 1838 in Kilkenny, Ireland. We know that her parents were Nicholas Knox and Mary Flynn and they lived in Tiscoffin Parish, Kilkenny, Ireland. A Miss Knox arrived in Sydney from Liverpool, England on 11 Mar 1854 on the vessel Argonaut - New South Wales Australia Unassisted Immigrant. I can't prove it was her however, it is the only Miss J Knox I can find in that timeframe. On their marriage certificate it says that her occupation was Servant from Newtown and John was a Clerk from South Head Road (maybe a shipping clerk). I was thinking that Julia might have come out as a servant to a family or something like that.
Her husband John Wilson (Junior) was born 7 Nov 1836 at York, Yorkshire, England. He was Christened on 12 Nov 1836 at Saint Mary Bishophill Junior, York, Yorkshire. Interestingly enough his father, also named John Wilson was born in Mountainstown, Co Meath, Ireland. On 24 Nov 1851 at Liverpool, England, John was Apprenticed Seaman for four years (Ordinary Apprentice Indenture Paper) when he was 15 years old. Don't know where he was between 1851 and 1857 but probably doing his apprenticeship as on 30th Jun 1857 he arrived in Sydney from Liverpool, England aboard the vessel Araminta, he was 21 and was a working on the boat as a Seaman. He married Julia Knox on 18 Jan 1859 at St Mary's Cathedral, Sydney. Unfortunately the original St Mary's was burnt down 29 Jun 1865. The St Marys Cathedral that we know today is built on the same spot.
Between 1859 and 1877 the young family moved around quite a bit as their 10 children were born in Newtown, Patricks Plain, Sydney,Windsor and Hartley Vale all in New South Wales. On 20 June 1874 when his daughter, Mary Helen (my grandmother) was born John's occupation was a Horse Driver and the family was living at Hartley Vale Siding, New South Wales. In 1886 they were living at Weston Rd, Balmain (Weston Rd was later renamed Victoria Rd). In 1891 John & Juliana were living in Park Avenue, Birkenhead. and in 1909 they were living at Therry St, Drummoyne and in 1916 at the time of his death they were living at Market Street, Drummoyne.
Julia passed away on 22 Dec 1919 at St Leonards, NSW. John passed away 21 Jul 1916 at Drummoyne, NSW. They are buried together at Field of Mars, Ryde, NSW. Catholic Sect B 424. Their daughter Elizabeth Jane Craigie Wilson is also buried with them.

John Wilson Jnr is my Great Grandfather Henry Wilson's brother. Henry the youngest of John Wilson Snr and Elizabeth's (Mountain) family was born in Co Meath in 1844.
Family oral history has it that John Snr came from Yorkshire where most of his children were born and that he relocated to Ireland having taken up employment by the Pollock family at Mountainstown House Co Meath.
