The Drought Family were in Offaly from the 1700's.  It appears there were 3 main branches: (http://www.kilcormac.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Rev%20Shaw%20History2.pd p 146)

The Thomas Drought (b1722) family of Droughtville, Lettybrook; The John Drought (1725) familyof Whigsborough; The Drought family of Ballyboy, which, by process of elimination, I believe was the family descended from Richard Drought of Cappagolan's son Robert Drought (d1726) and of which Frederick Drought MD is a part.

According to Griffith's Valuation 1854 Frederick Drought had house and land interests in Ballyboy, Ballyboy Village, Balloran and Davistown.

Frederick Drought MD lived in Dublin at various addresses: 1837 - 2 Synnot Place Dublin; 1843 - 28 Peter Street Dublin; 1852 - 3 Garville Road, Rathmines, Dublin County

Frederick Drought DID NOT come to Australia with his family when they sailed on the Rienzi on 18 Dec 1854.

In 1866 his illegimate daughter, Flora Constantine Drought, was 10 or 11 years old, and living with him and her mother Anne McMahon in Richmond, Dublin County
