Norah Shea 1843- 1927 was born in Killeenleagh ,Dromod Parish, Co Kerry to Daniel Shea and Margaret Shea.
She married Joseph Donoghue in Mastergeeha Chapel on Feb. 23rd 1868.She came to Ballynabloun to live.
She was mother to 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls. Jim and Jack stayed on the farms in Ballynabloun, Patrick and Mikey emigrated to Mass, U.S.A.She was widowed in 1906 and she lived until 1927 with her son Jack and daughter Ellen in the old Donoghue House.Part of the house remains today, the rest was knocked down in the early forties. NORA was a very intelligent and holy woman saying many rosaries during the day.Her grandchildren affectionately as Nanny.She is buried in Keel Cemetery, THE GLEN.
