Looking for my Grandmother Norah / Nora/ Eleanor Last Name : Sheehan/Sheahan. and any info on her family memebers. I think her parents were Mary Murphy and John Sheahan . She was born on July 5th 1883. I know she came from Asdee, Ballylongford, had an older sister Mary and a brother Patrick. She was a student at Asdee Girl's school and was 8 yrs old in 1891
In the 1901 Census she was registered as living in the townland of Tullahennel North in Lisselton, County Kerry. Details on the census state: Female Age16; Birth Year abt 1885; Relation to Head of Household: Daughter; Date 31 March 1901; Household Members John Sheehan 53 Mary Sheehan 54 Nora Sheehan 16.
She emigrated to New York City in 1904, arriving in the Port of New York on the Oceanic in May of that year. The US 1910 Census lists her Residence in Manhattan Ward 15, NYC, NY Her relationship to head of household: servant
She married Claus Diedrich Hustede 21 Apr 1913 • Manhattan, New York, USA. The last name was later changed to HUSTED and my grandfather's first name was changed to Charles.
