Photo of Charles Orpen and family. Charles was born between 1808 and 1815 in Stradbally, Kerry and died 1900 at Dungarvan, Kilkenny.
He married Jane McKnight in 1837 at Lismore C of I, Waterford, and was living at Cappoquin, Waterford at the time.
This photo was taken at Ballynamult, Waterford, at a property called Lackendarra Lodge, where I believe he was a land agent. They had 8 children: Mary Jane (1837), Anne S. (1839), James (1841), Elizabeth (1843), William (1845), Joanna (1852), Henry (1854), and Charles Francis (1858). All of the children (except James) are in this photo, as is Jane's mother.
