My oldest ancestor, Patrick Keely was born about 1800 he married Mary Byrne 28 January 1826 at Lobinstown, Meath. Four known children; Rose baptised 1 October 1827 Lobinstown, Patrick baptised 20 March 1832 at Lobinstown, Mary baptised 12 Jan 1835 at Lobinstown and Thomas born 23 March 1827 also at Lobinstown.
Next generation Patrick born 1832 married Ann Smith/Smyth on 14 November 1861 at Lobinstown, Ann was daughter of Thomas Smith/Smyth and Margaret Finnigan, Ann was one of nine children in this family.
Patrick and Ann Keely had eight children:
Patrick born 12 October 1862 at Hopkinstown, Meath, baptised Lobinstown 14 October 1862, emigrated to the USA, returned to Ireland then emigrated to Australia arriving in Melbourne 27 October 1888, married Ann Herrick in Wagga Wagga NSW 29 November 1899. Two sons from this marriage, Francis Patrick (my father) and Patrick Joseph. Patrick died 1 August 1942 at Ryde NSW>
Mary, baptised 4 November 1863, Lobinstown, emigrated to USA married John McDonald/McDonnell in Little Rock, Arkansas, two children Mariann born May 1892 Big Rock, Pulaski Co. Arkansas and John Joseph born 24 April 1894 also at Big Rock, Mary died before the 1910 USA census.
Catherine, baptised 7 March 1865 Lobinstown, married 27 April 1893 to Laurence Dillon born 13 November 1864 Lobinstown Catherine & Lawrence had five children, Robert, Patrick, Rose, Anne and Catherine as found on 1911 Irish Census, Cather died about 1921
Thomas born 30 October 1866 birth registered at Drumcondra Meath no further information known.
John born 12 June 1868 registered at Drumcondra, Meath married Mary Ann Meade on 11 september 1902 at Heronstown, she was the daughter of Thomas Meade and Bridget Tallon, one of four known children. John and Mary had four children, sadly Mary died soon after the birth of Patrick the youngest in 1907. John married 2nd Mary Campbell in 1920. John died in 1955 in Meath.
Ann born 19 November 1869, Lobinstown, in Ireland in 1901 census, emigrated to USA and entered the convent, died 9 Jan 1831 at Shreveport, Louisiana USA
James, born 1 November 1871 Lobinstown, married Margaret Meade nee Biggy on 13 November 1918 (widow of Chirstopher Meade who died 1916) Margaret had a son Nicholas born 1915. James & Margaret had four children, Anna, Mary, Joseph & Patrick. James died in 1943.
Joseph born 9 June 1873 married 28 January 1914 to Jane McCann, One son, Patrick born 1916. Joseph died in 1959,

I think perhaps that Ann Smith was the daughter of Patrick Smith and Anne Leonard, and not Thomas Smith and Margaret Finnigan. I have DNA matches with some Keelys but no idea where or how the link exists. My great-grandparents were Bernard Finegan and Margaret Meade in Hopkinstown.
