John was born in Limerick (according to cemetery record).  He married Margaret Kirby in 1876 in Cork.  They had five children, John Francis, Patrick James, Thomas Michael, Michael James and Margaret Mary.  He was a publican.  He died 25 Dec 1899 and is buried in Cohh Cemetery.
