My daughter & I are visiting Ireland in March 2019 & doing the tourist thing to start off our visit. We will have an extra 6 days before having to return home & I was wondering if it were possible to make contact with any possible relatives we may have in mallow or the surrounding parishes? I dont want to make a nuisance of myself but it would be terrific if I could touch base with someone if possible.How can I begin this process if at all possible? Your organisation has been wonderful in helping me discover ancestors who I didn't even know I had! Many thanks.

Hello,

I've come to believe that my 3rd Great Grandfather was one Jeremiah O'Leary from Cork, born 1828. He was the son of Jeriah O'Leary and Bridget Sullivan.

He moved to England and settled in Dudley in the West Midlands working as a coal miner and labourer. He married and had a number of children, one of whom was my 2nd great grandmother Ellen O'Leary who would marry Levi Smith. They had a number of children, one being my great grandmother Phoebe Ann smith, she had a brother called Jeremiah.

I have visited Cork numerous times, but before I knew any of this. Will be interesting to go back when allowed and do some more digging.
