Hi Roger, Do you know who William Fahey's parents were? My husband's ancestor Honora Fahey was born in Mayo C1836. Her parents were Patrick Fahey and Alice McLoughlan. My husband;s DNA connects him to Connaught.
Sue Mills
Hi Sue, Only as above. When he married Jemima, she was only 15 and their first child was born in the same year. Possible parents are William Fahey and Margaret Hegarty married in Castlbar, Co.Mayo in 1840. My DNA is less specific and just points to Ireland. Honora keeps popping up, but I don't knowif I am related. They may have been prompted to move after the riots in Mayo in 1860.
Roger Fahey
Hi Roger, Honora arrived in Australia about 1860 and married Patrick Fahey [he was from Tipperary]. I have found Honora's brother's baptism - Michael 2 Sep 1842 Castlebar so I am presuming Honora was from there as well. Her parents were named on her death certificate. It would be interesting to know if your DNA matches my husbands. Did you do the test with Ancestry?
Sue
I have mislaid my DNA resuls and Ancestry have no tstored them, I will have another search.
