Bernard was the son of Patrick and Catherine (McQuillan) and brother to James, John, Rose, Daniel, Hugh, Catherine, William, and Margaret. He married Margaret McAuley on 28.5.1899 in Cushendall. They moved between Ireland and Scotland and had three children Catherine, Patrick and Sarah in Ireland and Mary Eileen, Margaret Jane, and Elizabeth Josephine in Scotland. Catherine (Kitty) married and lived and died in England in 1995 Patrick and Sarah emmigrated to Australia. Patrick married but had no children and died in Western Australia in 1966. Sarah married Alexander Connor on 16.5.1930 in Glasgow, Scotland moved between Australia and Scotland and had four children born in Scotland but all lived in Australia. Sarah died in Australia in 1994 and Alexander on 18.7.1993
