Margaret Laffan married Thomas Kennedy [Royal Artillery] at St Mary's Cathedral [RC] in Shandon, Cork City in February 1860. Margaret & Thomas left for India not long after that.
They had 2 daughters in Belgaum, near Bombay, in 1863 & 65, & Margaret sadly died a few years later. Her husband returned to Ireland because of ill heath & died in 1875.
So Margaret & Thomas Kennedy's 2 daughters were left in the care of an orphanage in India, both later marrying, with many descendants, one being me.
I have traced Margaret Laffan's parents as possibly being John Laffan, church warden at St Anne's [COI] & Mary Ready, they married in Tipperary.
