Jane Roach was born about 1840 in Offaly (Kings) County, Ireland. Her parents were Michaelis Roach and Joannae Malone She died’ on 24 Oct 1918 in Blackwood, Victoria. She was buried’ on 24 Oct 1918 in Blackwood. Record found by Anne Dennehy from Ireland RO in rootsireland, of a John Roach 1839, Father Michael Roach and Mother Jane Malone, as the original records are in Latin and Jane & John are almost identical spelling, this could be a transcription error.
Jane Roach arrived in Melbourne, Victoria on board the EMPRESS EUGENIE on 3rd April 1858, having left Liverpool England, on 17th January 1858, with her sister Mary, who was aged 20. She was listed in the ships log as Housemaid calling, from Ireland, Kings County, Catholic, could read and write, and was 18 years old. Disposal list has her Gone with sister to Mrs O'Sullivan, little Bourke St. (Mrs O’Sullivan would have been her other sister Rose Anne)
Jane Roache had an illegitimate son, raised as Thomas Roache, on 21 Feb 1863, the father's name was Thomas Grace, there is an item in the Deniliquin local paper, the Pastoral Times of 29 May 1863, "as there was no denial of paternity the Bench directed Thomas Grace to pay 12s 6d for maintenance from 21 Feb 1863."
Age at marriage was 24, when she married Vincenzo Cocciardi. Cert No. 3582, No in Register 115 of 1866 District of Blackwood, Colony of Victoria. Jane died on 24 Oct 1918, 6 months to the day after Vincenzo aged 76 years, and is buried in the same grave as Vincenzo Death registration recorded as COCCARDIA PROFESSION: was as a Dressmaker
Jane married Vincenzo Charles COCCIARDI son of Antonino CUCCIARDI and Francesca D'AJOTTI on 27 Dec 1866 in Blackwood, Catholic Church. Vincenzo was born on 26 May 1835 in Panteleria, Italy. He died on the 24 Apr 1918 in Blackwood, Victoria. He was buried on 27 Apr 1918 in Blackwood.

Details obtained from Naturalisation application. Vincenzo Charles COCCIARDI arrived in Colony of Victoria on board the ship HIGH RANGER in 1857 from London, aged 19 years, he was 56 years old when he naturalised in February 1894, and he then stated that he had been in Colony of Victoria for 37 years. No evidence of a ship High Ranger was found.
