Mary Jane was one of the 4000 plus Irish Famine Orphans that immigrated to Australia as part of the Earl Grey Scheme. She sailed on the Derwent and arrived on 25 Feb 1850. Upon her arrival she went to work for Thomas Bond at King River (now Wangaratta) in Victoria.
