John was born about 1896. He was married to Catherine Connell about 1925 and they had five children that I know of: Edward, Patrick, James, Ellen and Teresa. John and Catherine moved to Lancashire and Catherine died aged 38 of double pneumonia. John worked as a plate layer on the railway and died in April 1950 after being hit by an engine whilst tying his laces.
