Greetings from NZ Steve. All I know is that he said on his marriage certificate that his parents were Andrew Dowd and Ellen (nee Murphy). He had a sister Ellen who went to New York and I believe another sister Margaret. His discharge papers were "lost" in NZ, but his regimental number was 2718 Private in the 65th Regiment. Thank yoiu for yoru post. All best wishes.
Yvonne.
