Patrick Bourke from Mantelhill. Married Mary Luddy of Knockgraffon, Tip. on 14 Feburary 1836. Patrick was returning home from fair in Cashel and was struck in head by stone. He died due to injuries. A daughter of his, Alice was accompanied by two of his brothers to America. The story is vague, but apparently one uncle fell ill on the ship and died. The story is that Alice ended up in hands of unscrupoulous people. Her mother Mary got word of her diappearance and moved to America. In a letter, from a William Bourke in NY, he says that he received this story back in the 1960s from a Luddy still living in Knockgraffon who was accompanied family to trainstation. Mary (Luddy) Bourke ended up moving with some of her children to Cleveland, Ohio. On letters back home, she apparently finished letter "Still no sign of Alice". On of Mary's daughter's Catherine Bourke of Mantlehill maried Patrick Ronan and lived in Covington, KY.
