It became the alms houses after the new boys school which is behind was built and after that school was sold a new coeducational school was built. The 1966 emmembrance stone was moved to where it is now from the entrance of the school behind as it was then standing on private ground.
Tallow National School was built in 1840 and renovated in 1900.
