Bridget arrived at Port Jackson, Colony of New South Wales, with her parents (John & Elizabeth) & brother Thomas on 25 November 1852 on the barque "John Gray"; unfortunately, another sibling (Catherine) died of measels en route.
Bridget's father found work in the Shoalhaven region of the Colony, so that's where the family settled. Then, for reasons no longer known, the family surname became MARLAN, and that was her surname when, on 7 July 1880, she married John Dwyer at Nowra.
In about 1896 the Dwyer family [John & Bridget, and children James Thomas (born 21 July 1881at Kiama), Alma May (born 21 Feb 1886 at Kangaroo Valley), and Benson Searle (known as Vincent; born 26 Feb 1890 at Berry)] migrated to New Zealand. Bridget died at Auckland on 25 June 1914.
