On 5 September 1846, Benjamin Ray Jr of 56 Great Strand Street, cabinet maker (son of William Ray Esq. cabinet maker) married Elizabeth "Bessie" Earle (dau. of Peter Earle, builder, 4 Jervis St) at St Mary Church of Ireland. Both were under 21. They were living with the Earle family at 4 Jervis St when they baptised Mary Ray (b1851) and Emily Elizabeth Ray (b.1853). They were at 30 Buckingham St when Benjamin Peter Ray Jr was born in 1857.
In 1847, at the time of Griffith's Valuation, William Ray had a house and workshop at 56 Great Strand Street. He also held a workshop and yard at #4 Byrne's Lane (off Jervis Street) which backed onto his main premises. He was paying £25 p.a. rates for these premises (leased from James C. Cottingham). He was also subletting a more valuable house and yard on Abbey Street (near Jervis St intersection) to James Rice. Most likely at the back of the Ray family timber yard.
On 24 June 1850 William Ray of 56 Great Strand Street, cabinet maker (son of Benjamin Ray Esq.) WIDOWER married Jane Teresa McDonald (dau. of Peter McDonald 67 Aungier St) at St Peters Church of Ireland. Witnesses: William Brauders (groom) & William Brewster (bride). Children: John Joseph Matthew Reay b. 1856 (Sponsor Teresa Eustace).

On 10 September 1850, Mary Anne Ray of 56 Great Strand Street (dau of William Ray Esq. timber merchant) married Robert Torkington, dealer & chapman of 2 Pleasants Street (son of Arthur Torkington) at St Peters Church of Ireland. Witnesses: Benjamin Ray & Elizabeth Dunne.

Other relatives: Bernard Wray (1798-1834) of Great Strand Street, died age 34. Samuel Wray (1830-1831) of Strand St died age 14 months. Another baby died age 5 months in 1833. William Wray Jr (1836-1836) of Strand St died age 6 mths.
William Ray Sr. died in 1858 leaving effects of under 200 pounds to his wife Jane Theresa Ray.
Jane Teresa Rea died 3 November 1888 at 2 Hargreaves Terrace, Rathgar Road. Jane Bowen, spinster, was living with her and was sole executor to the will.
