John Patrick Fitzgerald was born circa 1853 in Co Clare and died in Sydney in 1931 after spending a significant part of his life in Lismore NSW Australia. He was a carpenter by trade and a very good one according to his obituary. He worked on the restoration of St Mary's Basilica in Sydney. He married Bridget Josephine Howard (1863-1926) in Lismore on 26th July 1881, who was born in South Grafton NSW. It is believed his parents were John Fitzgerald and Mary Wolfe. According to John Patrick's death certificate, his father was also a carpenter.
