Daniel Gallagher and his family arrived in NSW on the vessel 'Orestes' in the year 1841. They were bounty immigrants, brought out by the Liverpool agents A B Smith and Company.
Records show that he was from Ederney, County Fermanagh, son of Michael Gallagher and Susan Monaghan.....both deceased in 1841.
He was in good health and could read and write.
The family eventualy settled in southern NSW and later in Bungendore NSW. Other members of the family also emigrated.
