Annorah Mary Ryan 1829
Back to ListAnnorah Ryan came to Western Australia on the Travancore in Jan 1853, according to her obituary. This was one of the bride ships and she seems to be the Honor Ryan on the passenger list. I have a book that says most of the girls on the Travancore were from the orphanages and workhouses of Cork and Dublin, although I have found other information that indicates some may have come from Limerick and Nenagh workhouses.
She married William Warner at Wonnerup Dairy in 1853. The marriage certificate says that her father was Michael Ryan, a farmer. Her death certifcate says James Ryan, still farmer and her mother, Annorah Kelly. It also says that Annorah was born in County Clare.
They had 14 children: Edmund Luke, Frances Mary, Elizabeth, Honor, Susan Teresa, Ruth Caroline, Annorah Agnes, Anna Maria, William Amos George, John Andrew, James, Teresa Agnes, Thomas George and Martha Laura.
Annorah died in Ludlow, Western Australia. She was buried at the Busselton RC Cemetery - which would most likely have been the Catholic section of the Pioneer one. There is no record or headstone, her husband W Warner is on a memoral plaque on the gate. Other family members have headstones there such as sons, James and Edmund.
