Place of migration
Migrated to /Born in Canada
Family memory tells us William was from CountyTyrone, but we have no proof of it such as a baptism registration. We believe he and his wife Jane Proctor came to Canada about 1838, but we have no passenger lists to prove they did. We may have found their marriage registration in County Armagh from 1836. There are so many people with these names, we are not sure if it really them or not. We were told they had one son, John. Both John and his mother Jane died in Canada Circa 1838, but we can not find death certificates. William married a widower, Jane Sloan Marten, with two children Ann Martin born 1833 and Matthew Martin 1834. William and Jane Corrigan had seven children in Ontario, Canada between 1844 and 1857.
