Bridget Ryan was born in Castledermot, Kildare, in 1855 the daughter of Luke Ryan and Mary Adams/Abbot. Bridget migrated to Australia in 1879/80 from Palatine under the guidance of Major G C Bloomfield of Thornville House and sponsored from Australia by Pat Wall.
Her 1st task according to past Family handed down information is that she was a servant/nanny to Anthony Hordon and his Son who was suffering from Lukemia.
Bridget married William Durr who was the vigneron at "Cardington Station" near Molong NSW.
William & Bridget had 6 children and moved to Cumnock where they took up land and built a home at their Property "Burndale" Cumnock.
