My 2x gr-grandfather David Sweeney.
- Born about 1831 in Co. Tyrone, Ireland (according his to daughter's 1855 birth certificate. He is the informant.)
- At some point between birth-marriage he moves to the Gorbals, Glasgow area in Scotland.
- Married in 1851 to Mary Garvin in Gorbals, Glasgow, Scotland.
- In the 1851 census, he & wife Mary (Garvin) are living at her parents in the Gorbals.
- In 1852-58 they had children born in Hutchesontown, Glasgow, Scotland. (Margaret, David, Mary Ann, Margaret #2,Jane).
- Then they go to Manchester & Chorlton Upon Medlock, Lancashire, England for awhile, having children born 1860-65 (John, Elizabeth, William Henry, Matilda).
- Back to Hutchesontown, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland and Agnes is born in 1870.
- The family is listed as Swan in the 1871 census.
- In 1881 they are living at Milton, Glasgow, Scotland.
- David died in 1886. (**SEE TEXT & DEATH CERT ATTACHED).
His family used the names Sweeney, Swan & Swanie.
