Michael Fitzsimmons married Mary nee Meaghan in 1837 ,they had children Michael and Ann ,then sometime around 1845/6 they moved to Sunderland in the north east of England where there was a large Irish community and probably had relations living there, in 1853 they had my 3x great grand father John George Fitzsimmons, then 1865 Michael was involved in a fight out side a pub and a man died , Michael was caught a week later and sent to Durham Jail for trial , but instead of standing trial for murder Michael committed suicide in his prison cell , he is buried in St Giles Church Durham.
