Margret [unknown surname], b. 7 August 1797* in Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick*. Married Edward FITZMORRIS/FITZMAURICE ca1825-1833, prob. Co. Limerick or Co. Kerry (record not yet found). Edward seems to have died ca1846-1850 in Ireland. The widowed Margret ___ Fitzmorris emigrated 1852 (per son Michael in 1900 US Census) to New York State, USA, with four known children: Edward Jr. (b. ca1832); Michael J. (b. 1833-1836); Mary Margaret (b. ca1840); and my 2-great-grandfather, Garrett Edward FITZMORRIS, b. 1846-1847, poss. Co. Kerry. In the 1870 US Census, Margret was living with son Michael in Persia, Cattaraugus Co., NY; in 1880 Census, she was still living with Michael, now in Dayton, Cattaraugus, NY. She was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Roman Catholic Church in Dayton. She died 9 August 1891*, and is buried in St. Paul's cemetery in Dayton* (church now closed). She is buried among members of the LUNGEY family, so perhaps that is her maiden name? The LUNGEY family was also associated with TOOMEYs in Cattaraugus Co., who may be related to the TWOMEYs found in Abbeyfeale in Co. Limerick, so that is another possible maiden name. All four of Margret's children married in New York and remained in Cattaraugus or neighboring counties, with the possible exception of Mary Margaret FITZMORRIS Burke, who d. 1863-1870, and may have gone to Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska with her husband Thomas BURKE. No death notice nor gravesite found yet for Mary Margaret; husband Thomas is buried in Omaha with his second wife. Margret's sons Edward and Michael were railroad workers in NY; son Garrett was a shoe and boot maker in Dayton.
