I am descended from Patrick Horan, born 1811 (son of Patrick F Horan). Patrick married Ellen Quillinan in Cullen, Tipperary, on 9 February 1835.
Patrick and Ellen were farmers and emigrated with their children [Sarah 16, Daniel 15, Mary 12 (my g g grandmother), Margaret 10, John 8, Ellen 3] travelling on the Blenheim, which sailed from Plymouth 22 November 1853, arriving in Melbourne, Victoria, on 28 February 1854. They settled and farmed in Elphinstone, in the Shire of Mount Alexander; and Patrick died on 13 June 1879 and is buried in Castlemaine Cemetery.
